very unusual: the doctor told my niece to stop breast feeding

my cousin has a daughter who gave birth last december 6. and last week the baby has diarrhea and sometimes vomits too. the doctor told my niece to stop breast feeding for a week and gave her food suppliments on drops.
i am confused, why does the doctor tells her to stop breastfeeding? the best food for a baby is the milk that comes from the breast of us their moms right?

The doctor know what he is doing it could be the mother ate somthing thaty mgot in to her milk and he is giving it time to get out of her system
