We had a couple of our relatives over from the US yesterday. They said that when they landed, they wanted to find a McDonald's to still feel at home. When they ordered for hamburgers they were told that they don't make them. They were totally shocked saying, isn't it supposed to be standard all over the world? I did say that it could be because of the major Hindu population who worship the cow as a God.After running a search on the products served region-wise in the internet, I realized that McDonald's doesn't serve Beef and pork varieties in India due to religious sensitivities.Only fish and chicken are served.I didn't know this till today.Did u know this?

No, I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me that certain countries rule out certain foods.
In Britain, when BSE was a problem, many of the Beef products were replaced with Lamb, so I guess in a country where a certain animal is held sacred, then its meat wouldn't be used in any sort of eating place.
Brightest Blessings.

In my country McD's also dont serve pork varieties.. But they do have beef burgers. When I visit other country I also tried McDonalds because in many ways they are different from what I have in my country, from the taste of the chilli sauce to the varieties of their product..

It should be a little of both I believe. When the major population doesn't buy it, no point making it.Might as well make the stuff which people enjoy also without messing any sensitivities don't you think?
