If trials come to make you strong then why am I so weak? I hear this all the time, do you? Trials come to make us strong! Don't worry you will be stronger for it? Thats what make us strong! Hang tough your going to be a better person for it; this will build your character! Okay then, if this is all true then why do I feel so worn out, beaten down, used up and so weak? Have you thought about the affect the trials in your life have had on you? I have been giving it a lot of thought lately and I am not so sure I am stronger o better for it. What about you?

I read a devotion in my e-mail today from the Purpose Driven Life site. I'm not sure if the site is purposedrivenlife.com or not, but if you find it, I think you would enjoy reading that devotional. It was just what I needed to hear today.

I ment to come back and tell you I read it. It was perfect for sure. I didn't know there was a website, I have sign up to be on the mailing list for the devotionals. At least I think that is what it said when I signed up. I enjoyed the book very much and also bought it on tape.

Well, Trials may make a person strong or weak depending on how he/she approaches it. I agree that sometimes we feel that they make us a weaker person. I have gone through that myself. But if one approaches it with a positive attitude I am sure, one will come out strong. We have to try and learn how to handle ourselves and not give in to the situation. Trials are indeed meant to make us a better person. If we had to have a life with none of these, we would not know the other side of life which may shake up a person badly. I feel God tries us badly so that we know the worth of life and live it right!

Yes this is so true. Having a positive attitude probably would ensure that you come out of trial stonger. I use to think I was a women of strong character. Now many years have gone by I am not so sure. I don't feel this is a good place for me to be in my life as I feel at my age I should feel much stronger.

every each of us has its own weaknesses but we tend to overcome it so we'll be able to go on to the next step of our lives. you don't let other or something to let you down just because you are being overpowered by your weaknesses. hey, i have lots of it when i was a little younger but i was able to eliminate it because it won't do me any good.

Yes I find that is all we can do is to eliminate it as it just drags us down more.

I completely agree with you. I've been through some hard crap and quite frankly, if it hasn't just plain worn me out, it's made me bitter and cynical.

Yes I am with you on this one for sure. I know I shouldn't be cynical or bitter but it is hard not to be. I don't act that stuff out as I know it is wrong but still it is hard not to say it once in awhile that yes I am cynical about life and even bitter. I know the truth of the matter is my bitterness only hurts me even more that is why I try to resist it. I would much rather be a positive person, so I try to act that way. I would rather it come from a truthful place from the inner circle of my heart. I love it when I see people who have been through a lot but are so possitive about life.

I think that in the begining, all the trials we go through are brutal. They do wear us down, beat us down a little. But in the end, it's those trials that strengthen us as people. Maybe not strength in the typical sense, but strength in a more character sort of way. We develop strength within ourselves when we're confronted with unbelievable circumstances and we must be resilient. I think it helps us feel like more realized people.

So very true what you said. Except I am not sure about the last line? Do you mean like we would understand ourselves better?

Trials in life do make us feel worn out, happens to me too I'm sure to everyone else. But by finding solutions and help for all my problems, I gain knowledge from new people I met, library, online, things I heard but never thought much about before. Maybe you can do something to take your mind off it, and then come back when you are fresh.

There are days when I would just rather give up, seems easier, but then there is my son, and he keeps me going.I try to look at each day as a fresh start, it helps sometimes, sometimes it doesn't.Still we press on....

To say that everything only makes you stronger is incorrect.
For example, constant beatings eventually result in exhaustion, giving up, not making you stronger.
To feel tired and beaten down, it's normal. Sometimes tough things in life don't have that desired effect of being a better person.
I haven't really thought about it myself, but I think that some of my trials have not always resulted in the best way.
I mean, i'm more experienced, sure, but I don't know if that's good or bad.
Anyway, good luck trying to sort things out with yourself.
