I myself have never had to give upan animal but I can imagine it may be very sad. I think that is why I have never ended up in a position to do it.
Of course you love them and care for them like they are always going to be yours so it is bound to be hard

As the "mother" of 4 furry "kids" I can completely understand.2 of our 4 pets were born in our home and I couldn't give them up. when our little girl had pups I had an extremly hard time giving them away. my brother teased me that it was easier to adopt a child then to get a puppy from me, but it worked out for me because all five pups went to friends and family members that I see often so I see the dogs often. Needless to say I had our little girl spayed ASAP so that I never had to do it again. Good luck.

Hi and welcome to Mylot. If you have any question about the level that pets feel you might want to check out a similar discussion on my site. We had to put our dog down and one cat in particular is still grieving her and it has been a week today.
Now in regard to separating pups from the mother it is usually recommended to wait until they are at lease 8 weeks old before doing so. If the young are separated from their mothers too soon they can end up with abandonment issues when they grow up. So in my view I'd wait another couple of weeks.
I am sure the mother will be sad initially and maybe it is better not to take them all at once..but one or two at a time. Eventually mothers know that their babies will move on...I truly believe that is hard wired into their natural instincts. To me it is the timing that will make the difference here.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do...let us know how you and the mother make out...we love updates here!

Never been in that position and probably never will but I can imagine I would hate giving them up. But as long as I'd know I had spent a lot of time choosing the puppies' new owners and made sure they were good dog people and if they got any problems so they couldn't keep the puppy it would be returned to me at any time of its life, then I could live with it. It's just something that has to happen.
Btw, puppies taken away at 6 weeks very often have trouble with bite inhibition, inability to read dog language, can end up fear aggressive or shy towards dogs or humans or both, and just have a harder time to learn things. At the very least they have to stay with their littermates and mom until they are 8 weeks but many toy breeds benefit from staying with their littermates until 10-12 weeks.

Yes, Animals too have feelings . Some people have pets who do not eat till they return from work.
Some listen to just 1 of the owners and ignore all others.
And they terribly love their Children ;like us Humans ;especially Dogs,Cats ,Chimps and Elephants .

I used to get upset when I would give my cats kittens away. she would look so sad after they were gone and then she would ignore me for a few days like she blamed me for getting rid of her kids. I eventually outgrew it but it was horrible for me when I was little.
