If you are from the Philippines then you are familiar with "malunggay" it is a household vegetable that is grown almost everywhere in the country and all year round. According to Food and Nutrition Research Institute - it is used as food, effective flocculant or water treatment, antibiotic, source of oil, and coagulant for turbid waters. One hundred grams or 1 cup of cooked malunggay leaves contain 3.1g. protein, 0.6g. fiber, 96mg calcium, 29mg phosphorus, 1.7mg iron, 2.820mg,B-carotene, 0.07mg thiamin, 0.14mg riboflavin, 1.1mg niacin, and 53mg ascorbic acid or vitamin C. The antioxidant activity of malunggay is about 71%, with u-tocopherol (vitamin E) equivalent of 45. So if you have malunggay in your backyard you don't need to buy multivitamins anymore because its complete like centrum.
