I love crochet also, kabes. I've been making a lot of scarves and hats. I'm going to start making things that are good for year-round use now because by the time the next craft fair gets here it will be spring.
Hair scrunchies, jewelry, little purses or amulet bags, clutches, tote bags, coasters, dish cloths and bookmarks are some of the things I'm thinking about.
Have you heard of tapestry crochet? I'd like to learn to do that.
I like the clutch you made.
Cheers, my new mylot friend :)

Hay Joyce, I too am wanting to stat making a huge range of goodies to start selling at the markets and too add more on My Etsy shop. Do you sell on Etsy? It's worth a try, I'ver sold a few things the past few weeks I would love to sell more but I guess it better than nothing.
I have seen Tapestry crochet on the net but I have never tried it, it might be something I should try, is it hard?
Cheers, I would love to see what beautiful things you create. Kylie

I bought a digital camera and have started taking pictures of my finished crochet goodies. When I get them uploaded to the computer I'm going to check into etsy. I'll have them on display on a web site also and will keep you posted.
I'm SUCH a procrastinator.

Hi!
I love you to craft! I make a lot of things and work in a lot of different mediums...tonight I made button Flowers as a special order for sale over etsy.com...which is by the way a super cool website and is great for buying handmade, or just checking out the craft scene! There are some amazingly Creative people on there!
I also love to Crochet! It is a lot of fun...I feel that if you can sculpt it, you can crochet it! Cheers, Hillarie

I taught myself needlepoint in college from a magazine. Then in the mid-80's, I got a little kit & learned cross stitch. Just after the turn of the centery I learned to do beading and just LOVE it.
I know only one crochet stitch (well, beside the chain stitch), but I've made a number of afgans & scarfs using it a few years back. I found that crocheting made my wrist ache, and since I was doing data entry at the time, I decided to protect my lively-hood & stop crocheting.

Oh wow, beadings sounds so pretty.
It's amazing what you can do with just one stitch in crochet. There is really only about 4-5 stitches to learn, then you can crochet anything. and I think its easyer to learn thank knitting, though I love to knit too.

I have dabbled into most crafts, teddy bear making, jewellery making, card, making, felt toys, photography and I did have a try at crochet but I just was not good at it, then the computer came along and all craft went out the window...I haven't actually seen anyone crocheting for years...

Teddy bears are very easy to make but there is a lot of work in them and it is very messy cutting the fur... here is a photo of my bears, from the tiniest one to the biggest one.

I do knit and create polymer clay items, like pendants and decorative ornaments. But I would say my main craft is creating what I like to call "wearable art" jewelry. I use mainly glass beads and include a few items with beach glass (aka sea glass) and gemstones.
My favorite pieces are the beach glass creations, but it's getting tougher to find enough beach glass in jewelry quality condition (especially in NJ) and I have to purchase a lot of my glass from collectors on the West Coast or around the Great Lakes (I only use the most reputable of sellers- most of which are associated with the North American Sea Glass Association)
Great post!!!

My craft is cross stitch, I was taught to do it by my nan when I was about 7 years old, but I didnt do much of it until the last few years. I love the way the picture builds up from nothing, almost like a jigsaw and you can see it growing under your fingers. I love to do all kinds of pictures, wild animals and mystical are my favourite. I also love to knit but unfortunately I am not very good at it at all, I knitted my mum a jumper once and she kindly thanked me for making her a jumper to take the dog out in. Yes it was that bad! I can knit teddies though so thats something!

My latest cross stitch is called tiger of the heavens, it is a beautiful white tiger that is sitting on the planet earth with all of space around him, Im also working on an egyptian one of Nefertiti, which is also beautiful but hard work as it has embellished thread in it and I have not worked with them much!! I wish I could knit well because there are some gorgeous patterns about.

I don't have any pics up, we actually just make them to give as gifts. It did start as a craft that I did with my ten year old daughter a few christmases ago, and discovered that when you use tissue paper for the paper mache the results are really lovely.

I'm into all sorts of different things. Right now, I'm making all the stuff for my wedding.
I'm making the reception centerpieces-vases with rhinestones, tulle, silk blue carnations and beta fish.
The favours- little soaps shaped like sushi in a little take-out box decorated with tulle and ribbon.
The gift bags for out of town guests-paper bags done up in stamps and ribbon with a thank you card and a welcome tag.
The place cards-stamped.
My wedding cake topper- two Little Mermaid action figures affixed to a small stand and decorated with tulle and glitter.
And probably more that I'm not remembering right now.

I wish I was able to be crafty. I think that it just is not in me. I prefer my hobby of choice to be cooking. I definitely enjoy hearing about other people and what they do. But, I have never been able to do much. I could not sew to save my life :)

I do paperarts including rubber stamping - especially scrapbooking and card making. Also beading are my main crafts. I have a sewing machine that has been sitting with quilts to be done - I don't know when I'll get around to that. I also do a lot of kids crafts because of my own kids and scouting. I am also getting back into oil painting this year.

I wish I could crochet. It's the one craft I just can not pick up. My mom tried to show me about a million times and no dice..the same with knitting. However, I have recently gotten into knifty knitting big time. Thank goodness for those looms LOL. I know to real knitters thats probably cheating LOL. I have the round and just got the long looms as a christmas present. I have only learned to make hats and scarves, but I hope to expand that. I also sew a great deal.

There are various crafts that I would love to do but for a limited income and limited time. I could only do some cross stitching ( i am making a large angel which i had been making for over 6 years now because of no time and no money ). I also started on designing jewerlies - here in Asia there is an available and cheaper precious stones and a wire that has 10k of gold on it. It's the trend here right now.
I would also love to collect crystals that attract energy but it is quite expensive.
As you can see money matters when you do some crafts but if you are creative and resourceful you can make something out of your own limited means.

Oh wow your jewerly sounds beautiful too.
I too love cross stitch and it also takes me years to finish something so it something I don't do very often. Though you now have me thinking about it.....
I also agree about expesive, sometime I have to stop untill the next pay check comes in just to start creating somthing again.

my craft and current craze is scrapbooking. i picked it up about a year and a half ago, and have derived so much fun from it. the best part is making things for people like mini albums and getting appreciative responses from them. a friend even framed my accordian card up! was so pleased.
and also making cards that are personalised just makes the whole experience more meaningful...

i love creating pages of scrapbooking memories.
i love taking photos and arranging them with matching patterened paper and embellishments and lots of journalling to capture that moment and that memory for ever.
sometimes i also dabble in jewellery making but that is a passion that has not been allowed to develop because of a lack of time.
Your crocheted purse is gorgeous by the way!

I don't have much of my stuff to show. However, you can see the denim purse I made last summer at http://www.iyomu.com/filevault, although I don't know if you can get in there without being a member. It is a social networking site for "adults". It seems to be much less hectic than most sites. I haven't taken pictures of many of the other things I have done. A lot of it has been given away or has worn out. I stopped sewing & crocheting for several years and I have just taken it up again recently. So I have to make more things to take pictures of. A lot of what I am doing now is mending.
