The X-Files 2... who else is excited?

I absolutely cannot wait until the second movie comes out on july 25, 2008. there are pictures and even videos of the filming in vancouver. i'm not too excited about amanda peet and xzibit being in it. i mean i don't really think a movie with a rapper will do well. i know it's not going to be over 2 hours either. usually movies under 2 hours don't do as well. i work at a movie theater so i know how well the movies do at the box office. i mean i work in the box office sometimes. :) have you seen the photos? what do you think of gillian anderson's hair? it's so long! there's also a shot where mulder has a beard. i've heard speculation on livejournal that it's because mulder and scully are in hiding so they aren't supposed to look like themselves. i can't wait to see how the characters have grown over 6 years. the movie takes place 6 years after the end of the series. I CAN'T WAIT! post your speculations!

I can't wait either, I'm not excited about the two you mentioned - don't even know the second personality you mention - although there are movies that feature rappers that do quite well in the box office. Like Deep Blue Sea which was also award winning and co-starred LL Cool J, those Friday Movies and the movie about that one white rapper. Then of course, multiple movies starring Will Smith like Men in Black and Legend. As you likely know, he started out his career as a rapper - even before he was in the tv series, Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Also many movies that are under two hours may not do as well in the theatre but they're critically acclaimed and can go on to do well in video. Sometimes its preferable - great movies like Lord of the Rings were too long for the theatre (even though that's one of my favourite movie series.
Anyway, I'm so excited too - I have no expectation/speculation as this is the first I've heard of it - thank you - thank you! I can see them looking different because of being on the run - then again - its six years after they're last seen, many people don't keep the same hairstyle for that long.

i guess what you said about deep blue sea is true but will smith wasn't really in the same rapper genre as others. he was a clean rapper. there's a difference. i just don't see xzibit as an actor. i mean ice-cube and ice-t have made acting names for themselves, sure. but i don't think xzibit is a wise choice for this movie.

I'm super excited about the movie. Hubby and I bought all the seasons and have watched them straight through. We just finished with 'the truth' a few nights ago and I must say I was very disappointed on how it all ended. Almost like they ran out of time and had to slap answers together really quick! But I'm still excited for the movie!
Ok about the hair: Take a look at Scully's different hair styles in each season. It's nice to see her change with time! I can't wait to see Mulder again!!

lol they did run out of time! gillian's contract ran out after season 9. my fiance and i are up to season 4. he loves it. :)

I am very excited about the movie too. I loved the new pics that were posted, and Gillian's hair doesn't quite look Scully red to me, but she looks beautiful! I'm a bit bummed that a lot of the secondary characters are not going to be in the movie, I wish they would bring Krycek back, but I still can't wait to see it.

I can't wait to see it either, me and my fiance are both movie buffs!! I think this one is gonna do ok...but you would know more about that than I would...

I just saw the movie and, even though late, I believe I would love to see a new edition of the x-files series pretty soon. The movie is pretty good, it brings back interest in the old series too.
