Managing Heavy Travel in Extremely Cold weather ?

Hi,
How do you manage If you have to Travel on your Car / Bike to many places and over long distance when the weather is extremely cold ;and doing so is very Important ?
Do you wrap yourself in Heavy woollens;Jackets , Gloves etc ?
