I will like to know how effective your prayer life is. As for me, I love speaking in other tongues a lot and worshiping. I also love using the scripture to pray. How effectively should one pray?

Most of the time, I pray to God as if I'm just talking to Him, thanking Him for everything, even during depressing times. When I pray the "usual prayers" my mind sometimes wanders so I just talk to Him about my intentions and situations. It makes me feel closer to Him.

Really, prayer should make you feel closer to God, because it is like just talking to someone that is close to you.

The effectiveness of a prayer is seen in the life of the person who's praying and its effects to others. Speaking in tongues is a personal matter. If you speak in tongues in which you and God can understand. But if you speak in an unknown tongue, that is strange!
The Christians in the early Church speaks in known tongues. It means that other people can understand clearly the language.
Prayer is a personal matter to someone. It is effective when we are in the will of God!
