part of? I saw the wailers last year during spring Hookahville, it was great. I also saw a few smaller bands at the Hempfest in Columbus.
The Wailers were much better than I expected (and I already had high expectations). The dancers/backup singers were perfectly in sync with each other which makes for a great visual. The music was great, it wasn't too far from the Bob Marley and the Wailers cd's I have, which is surprising...I was expecting something completely different. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, the dust was flying as people danced and jumped and laughed. People with huge hula hoops danced on the side lines, children played frisbee, running around barefoot. Other people relaxed in the lush green grass on a hill overlooking the stage, it was great.
Do you have any awesome experiences with shows or festivals? Or maybe just a perfect scene to describe?

No, I have never been to one, but a bob marley festival... man! Makes me high just thinking about it! I once took a cab to work. I had a real lenient job so I brought the rastaman cab driver in with me and he got me high. That was an experience not to forget either.
Funny you should start this discussion though, because I have been going on this bob marley thing and downloading every video I can find... I've become obsessed with his smile and his look. And the way he dances around. I'm in love!
The scene you described though sounds like a dream and reminds me of the many similar sounding 'festivals' I experienced in San Francisco in the 60's. Bare feet everywhere, sunny days, breezes blowing. No dust though, as it was in the grassy park, but the smell of ganja floating everywhere in the air.

PS: And I forgot to mention all the people with flutes or guitars, or mouth harps (harmonicas and kazoos), whatever, strolling around talking to friends here and there, playing music with them... or people sitting around in groups with bongos, etc., ganja was not the only thing floating on the air, there was the music too. And children running and playing. It was a fine time.

Ha. That's an awesome way to get free highs all the time, let em camp out on your property...I've always dreamed of owning a gigantic plot land in the boondocks and having gigantic festivals on it all the time...but the thought of all the technicalities, permits, laws, codes etc. gives me a headache.

Every reggae festival i ever been to was awesome! I live in Colorado and they have Reggae on the Rocks in Morrison every year. It's @ Red Rock Amitheater. Natural setting. The best day of the year. Everybody enjoying everything. So possitive! I espescally love that children are welcome. They need to hear Jah words too. Sometimes people blown bubbles. LOL. I always bring some too. Funny especally exhaling smoke in them. When they pop little smoke cloud there. LOL! They also have a soul rebel festival every year in Boulder. I love reggae concerts but nothing beats a outdoor festival.
