Holidays are frequently stressful. But, thankfully, to a minor extent. The core of the problem before me is, why is your son in law breaking your heart and should you care? Don't let people know they have power over you. That's all the advice I can offer.

isn't that the truth ! so now listen to this : good o'l son in law is supposed to be deployed on feb 18th, my daughter has another grandson on the way and he'll be gone for that (his 1st child) so looks like we'll have to help her , the other side of the inlaw's are not very helpful.she asked us to come to texas to help.sy daughter is sooo sad she say's that there is this distance now between us , from the holidat junk that went on, and she hasn't called (we talked everyday) and so i'm going to let her grow - up and br an adult (as she's calling it ) annd just LIVE MY LIFE NOW. i'm goin to be 50 this year nad i want to not have the feeling tha i have to take care of anyone or anyhting but my self , and that's a whole different story. thanks for the advice ;-)

My husband and I can both relate to family drama. We have learned to just let it happen, and avoid it. Both of our families live in the East. Eastern USA for him, and Canada for me. We are currently in AZ. We spent Christmas ALONE this year, and enjoyed the heck out of it!!!
