what is your speciality that you make for your family?
i make pizzas and quiches, but i will share the quiche recipe as i think it is lovely.
1. start off with your shortcrust pastry, roll it out so it is big enough for the dish you want to put it in, preferably a flan dish.
2. butter your dish, put the pastry in the dish and cut the excess off.
3. put some olive oil in a frying pan, wait for it to reach cooking temperature, put one onion, some bacon and some mushrooms in the pan and fry off.
4. whilst the above is frying, crack five eggs open into a bowl and whisk with 100ml of milk and pour into the pastry dish.
5. when the bacon, onions and mushrooms are fried to your liking space them out in the dish with the eggs.
6. put some cheese and a few slices of tomato ontop.
7. place in a pre heated oven at 220c for 25 minutes or when cooked.
8. enjoy, you just made a lovely quiche!
has anyone got any recipes they would like to share?

I've only made this one time, but I thought it was delicious and will probably make it for my parents the next time I am home on break. I got the recipe off of an online recipe site, and did not expect the intense but cool heat it has.
You combine a diced onion, 1 cup crushed pineapple, 1/2 cup beef broth, 2 tsp dry ginger spice, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp dijon mustard, 2 tsp black pepper, and salt if desired into a bit of a sauce.
Then you take 2 large sweet potatos, dice them and place them into the bottom of a slow-cooker, along with a whole flank steak of about 1lb.
Top with the sauce you made, and cook on high for about 7 hours. Cooking so long in the slow cooker makes the flank-steak tender and delicious, and has the added benefit that you can prepare this meal and then ignore it until dinner time.
