Star Trek (also referred to as Star Trek XI) is an upcoming science fiction film, the eleventh entry in the Star Trek film series, based on the franchise created by Gene Roddenberry. In April 2006, after several years of rumor and speculation, Paramount Pictures announced that the film would be produced by Lost co-creators J. J. Abrams (who is directing) and Damon Lindelof. It was written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who are also executive producers with Bryan Burk, Jeffrey Chernov and Level 1 Entertainment executives Bill Todman, Jr., Edward Milstein, and Paul Schwake. The film will simply be called Star Trek[1] and will be released on December 25, 2008.
The upcoming release of Star Trek (Star Trek 11) will debut Christmas of 2008. There hasn't been much said about it yet - more to come in a few months when it hits trailers during the fall.

Well, as a long-time Star Trek fan, I'm following the information about that movie since it's been announced over a year ago. I'm looking forward to seeing young talents interpreting our beloved characters Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Chekov! I pretty much grew up with this series (TOS), and I love all the movies with this crew as well - my favorte being "The Voyage Home".
I'm really eager to see how the young actresses and actors will do with our legendary characters *smiles*!
