What is your definition of a "True Friend"?

I used to think the definition of a 'true friend' was a guy who goes downtown and gets blo-wjobs. He comes back and gives you one.
Now (more seriously), I believe a true friend is someone you can tell all your happy and sad news in detail and he provides a new outlook on it. He also keeps your deepest plans and secrets and you can confide anything in him.

I agree with the serious part of your statement. I have very few friends I can confide in that wont judge me for telling them my secrets and hobbies people would usually frown upon (no it's nothing bad. .if that's what you're thinking lol). I've lost one in the past year and it hurts. I've only known this friend for about a year and a half and he's already gone. But I digress. I'd just like to add that a true friend will also have your back no matter what and if he (or she) thinks you are doing something that will damage you physically or emotionally, they'll try to talk you out of it or give you a hug. Never underestimate the power of hugs. (: I'm usually emotionally detached but I like hugs from friends. If I get hugged I hug back lol.

a true friend is someone who stays with you no matter what... someone who'll be there for you even if you do not need him/her. someone you can rely on... someone who can cry and laugh with you and talk about anything though it's nonsense. someone who never get tired of listening on your neverending and redundant stories... well a friend is like a mirror where you can see yourself... a true friend will always be like a shadow though sometimes things get tough for both of you or even if youll be far apart never be a true friend will ever forget...a true friend is a precious treasure.

I think its a person that will be there for u....try to be open minded and understand....listen to u when u need to talk or vent....someone who will take the good with the bad....stand up for u when u need the backup....
someone who feels ur pain when ur upset....and not be afraid to cry with u or hug u.
someone who keeps ur secrets....and knows what u feel and think sometimes even before u do...LOl

for me, friendship is like a ship....sometimes it sails across the hardships because of the big waves that hinder their way but still it continues sailing until they reach wherever their destination as well as true friends never leaves you,whether in happiness or in hardships...true friends value those things you valued,love you,comfort you and support you every time you're down....true friends knows you inside out!!!

A true friend will listen when you are sad and alone and be there for you when things are going well and you don't call as much. When you and your boyfriend/husband get back together, she will not judge you or hold anything against you for the things you said about him during the troubled times.

A true friend to me is a friend who's so loyal and true that even if you make a mistake they back you up. I look at Mike Vick as a good example. All his friends turned on him and now he's in prison. Yes he deserved it but his friends basically got rewarded with much shorter sentences for ratting him out.
I think it would be tough to have a lot of money and know who your true friends are.

My definition of a true friend is someone who is always there for you no matter what. Someone who won't tolerate your actions if he/she knows that it might lead to serious consequences. If ever I did not listen to him/her and still pursue what I want, then a true friend must be there to support me. Support in a way that whatever consequences I might get, instead of blaming me for not listening to him/her, he/she should let me feel that no matter what happened and what will happen, he/she will still be there for me and will remain as my true friend.

A true friend for me is someone who accepts as I regardless of how bad I can be. I could be bad but she/he will try to talk me out of it in a nice way. A true friend is someone who will not give up on you even if you rejected him/her. S/he should also be a good example and would make you a better person.
