what is the point of this?

While some people are here for social reasons and others for the pay, there are some of us that are here to view a topic from a bunch of different angles. Variety rules here and is king! Everyone has a view. MyLot is a great place to share it, while seeing views from a broad scope of the world. It is non-discriminating and diverse. People are here, sharing their views from all over the world, from different cultures, from different experiences. People do make friends here, just like any other social network. However, unlike others, you have the opportunity to share their views about various topics, instead of just looking at a cool "skin" and graphics. Plus, usually, the language is more credible. MyLot is a place to open your eyes to the large view the world presents us, and yes... you can get paid. Open up, lead discussions, respond to some... You'll see your earnings bloom.

You've posted a great first discussion because many new users to myLot have no idea what they're doing, what they joined, why they joined, etc. This is an excellent website where you can voice your opinion and get answers to your questions, all while you earn money for it! Basically, all you have to do is post discussions such as this one about interesting subjects and other users will respond. You can also respond to other people's discussions. The more you do, the more money you make. You get paid for how active you are in the website. The possibilities are endless and you can be as productive as you want to be. If you're referring why you join Mylot - for one they pay you for blogging, making discussions, making surveys to that other people can answer you in return. You also get paid for responding back to other people's discussion. It's fun, it's legit because for one thing Mylot does pay - like they did to me and other people who have used this site.
