yes they are...
its the general performance of a member.
the star indicates how well you have done.
blue is ten.
red nine. and so on.. you can see it in the middle of the star, theres a number.
if you start participating more, and do help people and gain the points as well having the best response...
then a star will appear next to your avatar.
good luck and do well..
take care^_^

I think it is somehwat important in Mylot. It ranks your activity and the quality of your posts and responses. I have been stuck with a red 9 for a long time now. I used to have a blue star and was ranked a 10 but I don't know what happened.

The stars themselves do not mean much, other than rating you something positive or negative, but it also affects your photo limit. The higher the star number, the more photos you're allowed to upload per day. And since photos are worth $0.01,it does some affect to your earning potential if you post the photo, mine is at the eight star.

I have to say that they are. The better post you make, the better result someone will rate your page with a positive. I have a 9 star red on mine and I still believe that is good. Sometimes I wonder how did my rate go down -1 - I don't know because I did have a blue star 10 - been trying to get it back up to 10 but it has been difficult. I tend to make positive discussions also to make sure to put helpful information and such.
I believe the lower a person has probably the less they will make. Also keep in mind that you start getting star numbers next to your picture after you have reached up to 100. And you have to keep it with a high rating. So the lower the less chance of not getting paid well. I'm just guessing that to be if that's true.
