I use cold water to wash my face no matter it is in summer or winter. I know it's cold to wash face with it in winter. However, I don't want to turn on the warm water tap because it'll uses some time to have warm water. I am impatient. Anyway, washing face won't spend a long time, so I just use the most convenient way and I wash my face with the water directly from the tap. I heard it's good for skin as it will make your skin smooth in winter.

I can't wash my face with cold water...it hurts too much LOL seriously...I can't have my hands in cold water because it actually causes me pain so washing my face in cold water isnt an option even if I wanted it to be.

hi,congrats!so many people are joining in your discussion.
i use cool water to wash my face, then massage skin with ring finger and middle finger from the bottom up,if so,you can feel relax and open pores, then clean skin deeply.in a word, you'd better take 3~5 minutes to wash face.i think it is worthy of taking some times in washing face.

I use cold water too, I find it refreshing during summer, and shocking during winter, but both effects are ideal after I wake up (if it didn't shock me, I'd probably stay half-asleep for hours!) Somewhere I read about the effect of cold water upon vasoconstriction (i.e. the narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels), and this might have an effect on the tone of the skin, so I'll probably turn to a warmer water sooner or later...anyway, never too hot: I don't want to burn!

Hi youless, I have a spa shower which is purposely fixed for showering. The water has already been filtered before it comes out from the nozzle. It is quite convenient for me to wash my face with the water straight away. I seldom turn on the heater as the water here is not cold throughout the year except during certain cold rainy days. I believe the filtered water could keep my skin smooth and healthy.

hi youless. I try to use face wash milk to wash my face without using water. I have heard that water makes our skin dry. But sometimes I wash my face using water. It is a warm water, only in the summer I use cold water. I think washing face in cold water can help to wake up in the morning, so I do it sometimes when I am too sleepy:).
have a nice day, jazgottt.

hehe I mean washing face using water make our skin dry, but not immediately:) Top water is a tough water, that's not good for our skin. English is not my native language, so sometimes I don't know how to form the sentece to make it correct;).
cherrio, jazgottt.

At all times i use Cold water to wash face. Perhaps the temperature in my Town is always soaring high, and one feels convenient with cold water.
I have read in newspaper and seen the reports in TV that china is experiencing the heaviest of snow fall, of all times. So i were in your province, probably i wont open the tap at all.. lol:)

I use water direct from the tap everytime I wash my face. I didn't that it will open the pores or what. But I thank all those who share their tips. Maybe I will start doing that now, if that is good. One of my problem is having oily face, especially during morning and it really bothers me, do you think using cold water and then hot water would lessen oily skin.

I generally use cold water too. It's soothing in the morning and it helps me to wake up. Plus, I remember hearing that Mae West, an actress from many, many years ago used to dunk her head in a bucket of ice water every day and she said that made her skin remain young looking.

Well with my face I use warm and cold. I use warm water in order to open the pores as i scrub my face. And then I wash my face with cold water to close the pores.
But during the time that I have no enough time, since I have to heat water first and get cold water from the refrigerator. I just wash my face with tap water. And then use facial cleanser.

I use both when washing my face. I like to open my pores up with warm water - and scrub my face while the pores are opened wide... then I will dunk my face into a bowl of icy cold water to close the pores back up and hopefully keep new bacterias and dirts from entering in them.

When i wash my face (usually after shaving and stuff) i use warm water, dont like to use cold water since its cold and i dont like throwing cold water at my face. Don't care so much for making my skin smoother, its not something that has any high priority for me.
