I gotta admit that my tunes that I hum (mostly in my head rarely out loud) are quite varied. Depending on what the last song was that I heard in the car before getting to work - if it's one I know and like, I'll usually be humming that for most of the day. At the moment I have "Put your hands up - for Detroit" as my ring tone which I end up humming quite a lot LOL! I had Smile, by Lily Allen as my ring tune for about a year and that song still does actually make me smile and I can start humming it just by thinking about it. Can't think of any other song apart from Smile that has had that effect on me in recent years :)

Now, you have really put me in trouble. I cannot single out, its so varied and I am so passionate about each of them! Still, I would try, my friend, just for you. *laughs* It could be any song from Tagore, which I just love anytime, anywhere. Or, it could be some oldies of Cliff Richards, ABBA, Carpenters, Lionel Ritchie, George Michael, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Asha Bhonsle, Gita Dutt... Or it could be singularly SAre jahan se achha or any patriotic song. I just love patriotic songs. Now, Bala, you decide which one you would choose.

I have listened to that Mera naam chin chin and other songs many times. And the name Gita Dutt rings a bell with Samshad begam , Noor jehan and Suraiya.Well I lost touch with those without a proper company to share and enjoy. Thanks for the help. And Al the Tagore songs in that link have a great quality in depth and all are very haunting.Though I am unable to understand it is really a new experience.I will take my own time to store and savor them leisurely. Thanks Mimpi.

Bala, I will try and send some songs of Tagore, if I can. Coming to Geeta Dutt, she was an awesome singer. Much of her singing style was originally followed by Asha Bhonsle. Here is a list which I am sure know well. 1. Mera naam chin chin chu.. 2. Na jaon saaiyan chhudake baiyan.. 3. Hal kaisa hain janab ka.. here are the links: http://ww.smashits.com/music/oldies/songs/5040/evergreen-hits-of-geeta-dutt-vol-2.html http://ww.smashits.com/music/bengali/songs/63/songs-of-tagore.html#

That has to be a song by Fleetwood Mac entitled Everywhere I have it on my Yuwie profile and I never get tired of listening to it, it is a wonderful song and it brings back so many happy memories, mainly of my first love! It's very catchy and by now I should be able to sing it off by heart!

I am a great carpenters fan.I like 'There is a kind of hush' very much.So soft and caressing.Mr post man always brings out the scene in front of the eyes. As years go by these songs become special with the nostalgic tag attached to them.

ONe song that I absolutely adore and have for over 10 years is I Will Remember You by Sarah Mclachlin. She is my favorite singer ever. I really love that song because I find it warm and uplifting. It reminds me of highschool and my choir teacher. Its also very easy to sing as its in the alto tones. There are many other songs I sing... but that is my favourtie one.

Another simple one of Sarah's Is Icecream: Your love is better than icecream, Better than anything else that I've tried, Your love is better than icecream Everyone here knows how to fly, Its a long way down, Its a long way down to the place where we started from. Your love is better than chocolate, Better than anything else that I've tried, Your love is better than chocolate, Everyone here knows how to fight, ......

I have several, to tell you the truth. There's actually quite a variety between these songs that I find myself humming to myself and wishing I'd hear (again) on the radio. (LOL) The first is Daughtry's "Home." I don't think I could ever heard that one enough. It's just beautiful. Another is Nickelback's "If Everyone Cared." It's got a great meaning behind it. I also like JoJo's "Too Little Too Late." I think she's a child prodigy! The last one (and probably my most favorite because they're my favorite group of musicians) is Rascal Flatts "Bless the Broken Road." This is a song that I can really relate to. I love hearing and/or quoting the words to this song. It's awesome. Great discussion! Songs really touch people's hearts. I knwo there are many people who can relate and respond to this discussion.

This is actually such a funny question to me. That is a song that I hum all the time. I do not know why it sticks in my mind. It is the Hallelujah song, by the Hallelujah chorus. The music is just so powerful and dramatic to me that I always find myself hummning it. I know that they say that hallelujah is the highest praise, but I don't know why it just sticks with me the way that it does. In fact, just talking about it makes me want to go to Youtube now and listen to it. Here I go, he,he.
