My daughter turned 1 today. She got to open her presents from Grandma this morning. She got some little black dress shoes, some onesies, and a Dora outfit. She was so excited to open her gifts. It was so cute. She will be opening the ones from me tonight. All she is getting is clothes since she has enough toys already and she needs new clothes. At this age the unwrapping is the fun part anyway right?

I agree...most kids are happier with the wrapping paper than they are with the presents themselves. Well, Happy Birthday to your daughter! I wish her many more!

Happy birthday to your little girl! Enjoy this time in her life, because babies grow up so fast.

Ohhh, Happy Birthday!! Enjoy this- it is so much fun.
I remember my son's first birthday like it was yesterday- it was actually 4 months ago- haha! It was so exciting. He loved opening the presents and took his time. We also gave him mostly clothes since I knew he would get lots of toys at his party, plus he already had tons.

At this age, the unwrapping and the wearing of the birthday cake are the fun parts. They don't really care about what they get. You could wrap some empty boxes and let her tear into those and she will enjoy it just as much. Enjoy this time while you can though, because it will be faster than you believe before she will care more about what is in the box than what you wrap it with. Hundred dollar jeans, two hundred dollar shoes... a car. It never ends. Take tons of pictures, use lots of ribbons (with supervision of course) and have fun with her.

HAppy Birthday to your daughter!
My son turned one 2 months ago and we didn't have a celebration because his daddy wasn't in town and I was home alone with the kids. But I doubt if he would have been excited with the unwrapping (unless he got a ball).
We celebrated his birthday 2 weeks later when we visited the family for my sister's wedding...and he wasn't bothered with the gifts (lol..but his older brother and I was)...all the little one wanted to do was dance and walk (he was walking by then)...and loved all the attention that he got from all the relatives.
Your daughter seems to have enjoyed her birthday too:)

That's a beautiful thing, watching your daughter go all googly over presents. Just makes you warm inside. I think, yes, unwrapping presents and making a mess is a delight for a child so young. My daughter has a surplus of toys, so I think seeing her be excited to open a present which was clothing would be cool. Too many toys just leads to a mess playroom.
