Although my parents were the best teachers I could have ever had I have to say that my 3 kids have also taught me a lot about life and how to live it. My parents taught me what I needed to learn to grow up to be a good person and the adult that I am but my kids have taught me the most about life and how to enjoy it. Since they are all 20 years and more younger than I am they make me see life through their eyes and all the things that I can and should be doing while I can. They keep pointing out the fact that I have nothing to hold me back from doing whatever I want to do and should go for whatever it is.
Who have been or are the best teachers in your life? Have you actually listened and learned from what they had to tell you or gone off on your own way?

experience is the best teacher for me ever since...i learned so much of my life alone..well yes part of it can go to my parents...teaching me how to be well disciplined plus teaching me how to be hard on almost everything...they taught me how to stand alone and do whatever that can make life a lil better...since they pretty much don't earn enough..i learned how to earn money on my own way...i never listened to anyone's suggestions with regards to my life...i go along my own voice...my own opinion...i stood up with my own feet and being a well being person right now..i should say i taught myself to be this tough...i always have it my own way...and i can never go wrong...

I do agree with you....experience IS the best teacher. I always told my kids they will never learn better than from an older, wiser more experienced person and they agree.

The best teachers I have ever had were by far my math teachers :).My math teachers were so cool he he One of them would ask the eight ball if we would have class or not and if it said no we got to pass notes and talk the hole class or we could just do our other classes homework ;).Now also I got a funny story. When i was in 6th grade i wa sin middle school and my math teacher had a math question like if their is 212 students going to a football game and only 60 can fit on a bus how many buses do you need?.Well my answer was like 3.53 buses :P So basicly I was a joke for a week "The wheels ont he bus go round and round unless its his bus :P

lol.....I always hated math and never met a math teacher that I liked!!! Oh, except for one in college who spoke French and very little English. He would basically give me the answers to tests so I could pass. I'm horrible at math!

My hubby is the best teacher for me. Being an only child, I was brought up in a very conservative and disciplined atmosphere. On top of that, being a virgo, I tended to be naturally introvert. So I grew up as a somewhat spoilt, shy, low-on-confidence girl who just did not know how to speak to people in a way that would not offend them and at the same time, get what she wanted for herself. Most of the time, I either whimpered or demanded attention, or stayed away from people. My parents also did not encourage me to mix too much with my peers (maybe they were scared about the safety of their only child). I was also very narrow-minded and judgemental of people. But 10yrs of marriage with this wonderful person has changed the very beliefs I had of life and people. He has made me strong, dependable, brave, adjusting and caring and many things else which I never knew I was capable of. I can now hold my own anywhere without being tongue-tied.

I have learned quite a bit from my children i must say..I believe the best teacher i have had is just living my life day to day and learning from my mistakes, and aging...I am a lot better person now than when i was younger, not that i was bad,i was just ignorant of a lot of things when i was younger..It is not a shame to be ignorant, that only means that you do not know, but to be stupid and do it anyway, now that is pityful..haha..I know that i have learned and everything that i learn ,I cling to it and try to grow with it..Even though we all get older., i think there is a lot of beauty in aging..I do know that my children keep me informed of the latest things and for that i have learned from my children..The rest i have learned by just living life and i have learned so much from my mistakes..I believe what your kids are telling you, about not holding back.I feel that if you want it bad enough then if you put your mind into it,you can do most anything....

My Grandmother was the best teacher in the world! She was American Indian and knew everything about the land. She knew all of the birds by name and sound. To this day I still think of her when I see an eatable weed growing in the yard or I hear a eagle flying nearby. She also taught me to cook. She was the best southern cook ever!

I would have to say the best teachers in my life would be my children, they have taught me how to love unconditionly. My children has also taught me when things just aren't perfect to make the best out of the situation that you can.
