Irresponsible drivers

I had the most precious little dog in the world. His name was Panchito and he was a four year old Chihuahua, long coat. I bought him when he was 2 months old and weighed 2.4 pounds. I live alone, so he was my companion as well as my best friend and most important of all he was my baby. One day, I went to get the mail,(my mailbox is by the road) and I didn't see my dog follow me. You can guess the rest. A Car sped by and barely hit him, knocking him to the curb right before my eyes. I dont know if it was shock, or the actual car that killed him, but that driver clearly saw what happened and didn't evern slow down. That was the worst day of my life! I know it wouldn't have brought Panchito back, but it would have made me feel better to at least know he was sorry (the driver.) Don't these people have a conscience? I think there should be a law or some kind of consequence for these drivers, dont you?

I agree wholeheartedly there should be some sort of penalty for these losers. It is different when it is an accident and the driver is clearly sorry but all too often the driver just keeps on going. It makes me wonder if they'd keep on going if it was a human!
