Well according to the doctor it is leaking....I have 3 boys and I never heard of this..doesn't the baby survive in that fluid??? My doctor told me it is very little and to rest and take it easy and now I am being seen every week. I am freaking out because I am only 7 months...has this happened to anyone or do you know anything about it???

Im sure that if that happens you are at risk of infection, I would be getting a second opinion...

I had my doctor plus the resident doctor at the hospital look at me... I have researched it and now I am a little more comfortable that it could repair itself

He didnt put you on bed rest? I am 7 months and was just having some bad braxton hicks and I was put on bed rest. If you lose to much of it then they have to take the baby. I think you should get a 2nd opinion. Especially if you are only 7 months. Anything before 34weeks is considered a preemie. You need to be extremely careful and you are at a higher risk for infection now also. How many weeks are you?

You just need to take it easy as possible. Stay off your feet as much as you can. I understand I was suppose to be off work too and went anyways but remember that baby in your tummy needs you too if you start feeling bad or it gets worse then you take your butt right back to the hospital. I have seen preemies at 27weeks a friend of mine had her son and it was horrible. He was nearly transparent. Just please be careful.

Yes I definately do not want that. My boss is awesome so I know if it gets to be too much I can go home..I usually work 10hrs a day and I changed my schedule today to 8hrs a day..Not a big difference but hopefully it will help

He told me to rest and I have been lying down as much as possible. Unfortunatly, I still have to work and I have 3 other children that depend on me.

I have 3 kids so that is the first thing I thought. But now it is all in Gods hands if it heals or I will have to deliver the baby. All I can do now is wait

With my 2nd child at 8 months i had this problem I wasn't allowed to do stairs no lifting just take it easy she was born 2 weeks early with no complications I was only in labor for 3 hours so she came fast. there wasn't alot of water to break but eveerthing turned out ok. worse case scenario in my opinion is what they call dry birth but also nothing to be extremely concerned about. Just do as the Dr. says and I truly beleive you and your baby will be fine. good luck and take care.

You definitely need to rest and stay off your feet as much as possible. The baby can survive, but if to much fluid is lost then the baby will have to come early. I have heard of this happening, but in most cases as long as you stay off your feet...which means bed rest, you should be able to carry the baby a little longer. i know that it can be scary, but just have faith and trust in God that He will take care of you and your little one. I will be praying for you and keep me posted on how things are going. God bless

You are very welcome. I'm sure that things will be okay. One way or another, you and your little one will get to come home and have that new addition to your home. If you happened to deliver soon, just have faith because there have been babies younger and a lot smaller than that that have made it. Keep your head up and keep us posted. I am still praying for you and your baby. God bless

If the doctor told you not to worry and you don't feel any easier. GO IN. It's the only way for you to really be sure nothing is going on. Trust me you won't sleep until you do. Tammy

My water was leaking and the hospital freaked out because I waited 12 hours before comming in. I wasnt sure what was going on ( I though I was now peeing my pants at a slow leak) I was 36 weeks along so they just took me in and we had the baby. They said that there was a risk of infection to the amniotic fluid and that I could not wait before comming in with out risking getting the baby very sick. Things may have changed since I had my boy 6 years ago but I would probibly be extra cautious for a while, and maybe call the dr again and let himknow you are concerned. Im sorry you are going through this. Everything stressed me out when I was pregnant. Babies seem so fragile, but they are realy tough.

Yes, the first thing they told me about was infection.. I have had my water break normally with all 3 boys and it is nothing like this. It is hard to explain but is not even a slow leak. It is more like a drip. They did tell me it would either keep leaking or heal itself. I just turned 28 weeks so they are going to watch me and hope it heals.

I had a friend who's sac ripped, or tore and was leaking, she just rested and eventually it stopped, her doctor told her there was a very good chance that it would heal on it's own if she took it easy, and it did! I would def. not take our word for anything though! Your doctor will know what is best for you and that baby :)

Has your doctor seen you? Did this just happen? There are many things to worry about if this is happening. One you are so early on. Two that there is risk of infection once the water is broke. I would go to the hospital if it were me. Good luck and keep me posted.

I had what is called a dry birth, my water broke and I expected a gush, I had a trickle so I did not know. Dry births are bad!! My daughter aspirated macomium and was very sick at birth. Shes perfectly healthy now. I agree with the others if the doctor is not concerned you should not be either. But take his advice and take it easy, that would be the hardest thing for me. And with 3 boys it wont be easy for you either I am sure! Blessings

This happened to me. I woke up one morning and had all this gooey stuff running down my leg and no pain what so ever. I called my doctor. He told me not to worry that I was not ready yet. Well this did not seem right to me at all. I went over to the emergency room. Had an exam and they said my water had tore. This was a month and a half too early. But the leaking would not stop. They admitted me to the hospital. Called my doctor and I had the baby by "C" section 26 hours later. Because they tried to enduce labor but I was just not ready, but apparently the baby was. Doctors can be wrong sometimes so my suggestion would be when in doubt have it checked out. Maybe you need to go have yourself a second opinion.

Well my doctors is in a clinic in the hospital. I was there awhile and they did all kinds of tests..they said it didn't tear it ripped a little...this may sound yucky but I only have to change my pad every couple hours...they are watching me but also said it could heal itself since it hasn't broke...so it is just a waiting period...thank you for your comment

This happened to my mother several years ago and I remember the main concern was infection. The fluid I guess is highly prone to causing infection. My Mothers doctor was very concerned but she was less than 6 mos along and had many other complications. None because of the leaking fluid. I was told by my OBGYN that the body will continue to make amniotic fluid to replace what is lost. Note this was 18 years ago so... I am assuming however that if the body made more fluid then it still will today. Hope this helps. Good Luck and God Bless.

Oh my goodness... if your water broke and you are only 7 months on the way... then i think you should go to the hospital... RIGHT NOW!!!... when my water had a little leak and i was already 9 months on the way... the doctor saw it fit to burst my water bag and get the baby out of my tummy... so i think this is something serious... so please go to the hospital now...

I know someone who is going through the same thing Im sure your doctor would take action if this was something to be concerned about but I think you should be prepared.you never know that baby might be coming soon.Your doctor wants you there every week to check if the baby is doing well due to you losing fluid. If you start getting pain or if you sense that something is wrong you should rush to the hospital

It seems like you should be in the hospital if our fluid is leaking. You are at a high risk of infection. I have never heard of someone who's water broke being able to stay home and stay. You water replenishes itself and that is why the baby will be fine with it leaking. The problem is with infection, you should be monitered and be on antibiotics. My water broke (twice it was only a "leak") with 3 of my 4 kids and I was admitted every time. My sisters water broke with all 4 of hers and she was admitted as well. Her last three babies were preemies, she started showing signs of infection in the hospital and it was sudden so the delivered very early. Thankfully all three of them are perfectly fine now.

Well I was at the doctors for a couple hours and my doctors is in a hospital. They sent me home and said they would monitor me. I have been with the same doctor since I was 16 so I trust their opinion
