Kitten - Buddy the Kitten
Cats are hunters (just like Lions, Tigers, etc...) and the cat was just doing its job (thinking it was doing a GOOD job). If taught that this is inappropriate behavior the cat will stop. I had a Beagle that would bring birds back to the house alive, bring them in the house and then kill them and lay them on my feet... again a hunter instinct... great if I was hunting birds... not so great for a pet.

Not really that is what they were bred to do. If you watch a nature channel you will see dogs (usually larger dogs but still in the hunting category) being used to retrieve ducks that were shot out of the sky.

Does your cat sleep in your room?Maybe she thinks it's her territory so she brought some food in it.Cats used to do that when they were still in the wild.Talk about animal instincts.

House cats, while independent and often don't get along extreamly well with their own, are actually the only other cats besides the lion to have some "pack" mentality. Not that they hunt in a pack like a lion, but that they do bring their food back to the group to share. So, your cat is bring food back to share with his/her group, you. I know its not something WE enjoy, but still, praise your cat for keeping your house vermin free, and take the rodent away so he/she won't eat it.

It's pretty obvious that your cat loves you and is bringing you a gift. Accept it and make sure you give your cat the love it wants back.

I know this was said, but it was her instinct to do this. She wants to share with you.You should praise her and throw it a way.Cats can be very loving and sharing, she accepts you as her family.

Is your cat a female? ._. I think female cats do that pretty often, because they want to shar ood with you. (You feed them too, so they think of you as family)
