Do I have to post like 1000 times to be able to make a dollar on here? Seems the pay has gotten pretty bad. Anyone notice a pretty significant drop in earnings?

I've definitely noticed a drop since this time last year. Last year, there was days when I was making $3 a day, and now I rarely make $1 in a day. Still, I'm making payout every month, so it's not impossible. I hope the rates go back up sometime. I really do enjoy posting here, but it makes me sad not to have the extra money!

Yup, I'm dong better than a lot of people it seems! I should remember that instead of whining that I'm not doing as well as last year! :P I'm not really sure what I do differently. I tend to write longer responses, and I respond to discussions that really interest me, so I feel my responses tend to be "quality". I'm also lucky enough to have quite a few excellent friends that respond to my discussions, when I make them.

You don't get paid for starting discussions nor do you get paid for responding within your own discussions. You ONLY get paid for responses in other discussions.

That depends on how you put up your post, either by starting or responding on discussions. Mylot has strongly stated that you earn only according to the content of your post, which should in QUALITY and not quantity. Now this Quality differs on what the admin thinks, they are the one's that calculates our earnings and not me nor any mylot member here. But if you try to get active and participate here almost everyday, then you'll most probably qualify for this months payment. As for me, I don't rush things too much since I don't depend on the money I earn just to support my livelihood..

from my experience with MyLot, I have the impression that it is not the quantity of posting for which you get paid, it is moreso the quality and length of your posts. If people are posting comments which are one or two words or only one sentence, then understandably their compensation will be less then the person who wrote 5-10 sentences or even a paragraph or two.

I don't know how they have the time to read every quality post though or how the software grades each post. Must be the amount of responses or the positive or favorite responses that gets the money flowin. All I know is that I struggle to get paid anything unless I slave for hours. I do however enjoy BS'n on mylot anyways though!!!

Its not just the quantity of posts, its also about the quality of your posts. I post about 20 responses everyday since wednesday and have earned fifteen cents from them. I do not just simply post. I make sure my content is usefull so that it will not be deleted. I don't know about other people but I have experience my post being deleted and I found that when one of my post is deleted, my earnings drop significantly. So I am more careful now. I make sure I earn from my posts in mylot by making my responses as useful as possible and at least four lines long. You might want to try the same thing. I have also found out that I earn slightly more when people comment about my responses. I have to admit that up until now, I haven't earned enough to request payment but I am trying very hard to squeeze some mylot time into my busy schedule.

I think it depends on the content of your posts too. I am not sure exactly how it works and for me I earn through learning things from friends here. The fact that we get paid, in my case, is only 'by the way' and I do not post for that reason. When you stop thinking about what you are earning and think more about participating it does seem to increase though.
