I actually searched this online. It's pretty gross. I learned from BBC Food that one of it's major ingredients is animal blood. Eeeek. I already hate seeing even a smudge of blood on chicken, but a whole pudding full of blood. Ack! I think I'm going to become a vegetarian. Seriously.
Continuing on with what I searched, black pudding is usually made in the UK. It is a blend of onions, pork fat, oatmeal and blood (usually from a pig.) They're actually pretty much sausages.
Well, at least I learned one thing from this. Black pudding is definitely not a dessert. It actually looks a lot like a sausage. Only ickier.
