Its repeating again. 2 years past the amputation of my Grandmother's left leg below the knee, the same symptoms with ulcers had appeared on her right leg's inner side of the small finger. It is a tragic to be with and see her weaken and weaken amidst the observation and supervision of the country's best Diabetic Specialists. The doctors have never warned us that it can happen this quick since the earlier leg wound started from a scratch mark. This time it had automatically come up due to the tension between the two fingers. Now only i learned through the web myself how it happens and the expensive medicines available to cure it. However, her blood sugar level went up to 310 during hospital admission (western medicine) for treatment whilst it was normally at 180. The doctors there told us that they have no solution as the blood vessels to the foot are blocked and her 86 years age is not suitable for bypass surgery and asked us to take care of the foot but not apply medicine to the wound. I felt this is crazy indeed. Now she is at home and i have taken her to a local Ayurwedic doctor who gave extra two pills (ayurwedic) and recommended us to have a regular massage of the leg with ayurwedic oil. currently we are following this procedure parallel to western medicine she is taking to control blood sugar and pressure. After one week her blood sugar had dropped to 150. We now have some hope of healing the wound. I am seeking any special medicine to be applied to the foot ulcer wound ( now it had turned blackish and covers the nail area). Have any of you guys had similar experiences in your families? if not you can get prepared. If yes I look forward to share your experiences towards the cure of my Grandma as well
