Do you feel safe?

Everytime you read the news anymore it is all about violence, and tragedy! Mothers killing children, reverends stealing the church's money, priest sleeping with children, and then all of the kidnappings and shootouts! The question is, if there ever was a time to feel safe when was it? And if you don't feel protected why is that and what do you feel could change it? I sure know that theres no protection where I'm from because I think the cops are more coniving than the worst criminals! What are your thoughts?
