Net cannot be relied upon to find perfect life-partner for men

Lots of women come on the net. (Me included.) I think the major problem involved with online dating is that men and women tend to look in different places to find partners. I met my husband in a chat room, but it wasn't a place specifically for dating... just a chat room for college students to hang out. Neither of us came there intentionally to meet a life partner, but rather just to hang out, have fun, make friends, vent, etc. We wound up becoming friends and then deciding to be together much later... not right away. I've met many, many women online, and most of them have been in communities, forums, chat rooms about specific interests... not dating sites. I do know a few that have tried dating sites, but it usually doesn't go anywhere because they don't manage to build up enough trust of the person before they're being asked to meet. It's much easier to build that kind of trust in a non-pressured environment that's just for fun than a dating site, from what I've seen.
