What the war on terrorism is all about is to keep the people frightened enough so that they give up their freedoms in exchange for ill-perceived security. The Patriot Act and further acts and presidential signings have now resulted in the fact that ANYBODY can be arrested for no reason at all, then told that they are a suspected terrorist, and imprisoned for an unlimited period with no recourse to law. They can even be shipped off to a foreign country and tortured! This has happened already, and it will happen again. It can happen to YOU. the "war on terror" IS NOT a US war..the Us is involved and since we have one of the larger armies and wish to show a commanding prescence considering what terrorist did then we have indeed thrown a lot of troops at the issue....IRAQ is a seperate thing for the most part and quite a mess I agree... However, the picture you piant of the US going around bullying these countries is ludicrous...US does not need to "threaten" people, we are already powerful and such and believe in "freedom" IRAN and many sects of radical muslims feel it is necessary however to threaten people who are not of their religion..Afghanistan, was harboring terrorist and world criminals, they were told to expel them, Afghan refused, US IS NOT AT WAR WITH AFGHANISTAN..US IS AT WAR WITHIN TERROR CELLS INSIDE AFGHAN. and Afghan was given the chance to prevent this. ...you do not see America swooping in and telling people to be Christians or anything, but the whole Jihad situation is the fact that US has so many military bases and they put them in countries with large groups of people that do not want them there and ect...but technically the US paid for and owns the land they have their bases on and someone in the country sold that to them and therefore the US is actually helping the countries economy in some ways, ect. ..oh but it is holy land of sacred ba-bu ba-bu the 8 legged cow or something............. NORTH KOREA IS THE ONE MAKING THREATS!! They threaten the whole world by creating nuclear weapons and basically play a game where they say they intend to use them.(Us has nukes, do yuo ever hear us going on and bullying people saying we are going to nuke you?)..the guy who runs North Korea is a friggin coo-coo bird...the country is run with most of the population in poverty and the money going to HIM and his lil armies(call the us govt. corrupt, what govt isn't?)...there is a reason there is a NORTH KOREA and a SOUTH KOREA..the place got split up because the North kept attacking everyone...I think it is Japan or china they threaten these days....once again America does not "threaten" they tell these dumb threatening terrorist what to do or else we're going to blow them up and shut them up...if you are going to threaten someone don't be surprised when the marines come in
