Which site do you like better? Which one is easier to navigate? Which pays better, and where do you submit more articles?
I'm curious because I joined AC but haven't published anything there yet. I find it much more difficult to navigate than Helium. There is probably a better earning potential at AC, but you have to write on topics they are looking for, whereas at Helium you can write on pretty much anything.

Yes, AC pays better because they do upfront payments as well as performance payments. I haven't spent a lot of time at AC, maybe more time will help me get used to it.

I haven't tried AC but I'm a bit disillusioned with Helium. It seems as though an article must be on a 'hot topic' to have even a small chance of being seen. With so many people blogging and writing it seems there is an oversupply of articles and even really good ones can go unnoticed in the multitude.

It can be frustrating, and Helium is not a big money maker, unless you enter the contests. But those are usually the hot topics. I prefer to wait to find a topic that grabs me, rather than writing to the topics they offer in the contests.
The reason Helium is valuable to me is it is a great place to learn and improve my writing skills. There's a member feedback forum where you can ask for other writers to critique your work. It has been very helpful to me.
