my 6-month old cat has not eaten for a week

Actually it may be more than a week. I leave him alone with his mom in my room. They have a steady supply of food and water and I can't really be sure when was the last time he has eaten. I often see him drink water so I thought he was also eating but I've been suspecting something's up since he was getting thinner.
Yesterday he started getting very weak and just kept on sleeping. I gave him his favorite food but he just smelled it and didn't even bother to taste it. He still drinks water. Tried force feeding him soft foods and now he's hiding under the bed so I won't be able to reach him.
I know he needs to see a vet but we live far and because of circumstances I'd rather not go into, we'll only be able to take him to the vet by tom. But I'm not sure if he'll make it.
Any suggestion? He doesn't have any wounds and wasn't hurt in any way that I'm aware of. And yes, it's the kitty in my avatar. :`(

Maybe keeping the 6 month old kitten with it's mom is a bad idea. I've seen cats get territorial, even with their own kittens after they are weaned and not let the kitten eat the same food as them and hiss and scratch to keep it from eatting it's food.
Your kitten sounds like it has something else wrong with it though, is there something in the room that it might have been licking or eatting that could be bad or poisonous? maybe a kind of paint or plant in the room could cause it.
It could have worms, too if it hasn't been wormed.
Yeah, if he makes it til tomorrow and he's moved out of the room with his mom, and things aren't improved, I would see about getting him to a vet.
Good luck! Hope your kitty get to feeling better!

awww…that sounds so sad. Maybe he's not feeling very well or something. You definitely should take him to see a vet. I hope you'll do that soon so that you can find out what's wrong with him. Hope he'll be all well and start eating like normal real soon! :)

That happened with my cat Cleo - that's her in my avatar. She basically stopped eating and there was nothing that the vet did that was any help. she did eventually die and I stil have no idea why this happened.

It is very important for kittens especially to eat. I very much hope that he/she has been eating. You have to make sure there is no medical ailment. You should ask your veterinarian for advice. Also, if you want to be more exact, you could try videotaping. I know when one of my adult cats stopped eating, we couldn't figure out what it was, but of course went to the vet. First they didn't know. And after several tests, found out that he had developed thyroid problems, and had to go on meds. And our cat had FIV+ (like HIV+ for humans). He did live a long life still. But he needed to take medications daily.
Also, another cat over the years had tooth problems, and this can be dangerous for cats, as they can't brush their teeth on their own regularly.
Also, have you tried wet food too? Some cats are picky too (like we humans are), and only like certain types or flavors too. We feed our kitties a mix of canned, dry, and pouch food (all natural cat food brands).
Make sure to monitor and get some help. I hope he will be eating soon.
