What is the disadvantage and the advantage of parents who works abroad?
advantage
they can save for their childs future
they can give them what they need, because they are financially stable and as we all know salaries abroad are much higher than in the PHilippines.
disadvantage
they cannot be there for them when they need you (physically i mean)
they cannot see them as they grow.
they are much likely close to their grandparents or aunts who take cares of them...

if the children has both parents it is okay if atleast one parent will stay with the children. i am a single mom of four children. i spend some time abroad but not regularly. if i have to work abroads then that would be for only 6 months and the intervals is a year before i go abroad again. there are a lot of advatages and disadvantages. but if only i have a partner then i would rather stay home and let him be the one to work abroad

its really hard for a single parent to raise their children... and yet it si so hard for that single parent to work away from their children... But we have to sacrifice for their future... and I hope they will understand us when they grow up... I am here with my husband abroad... we have to work double because of our children and finances... we are also the only ones our parents turn to when it comes to financial....(both sides...my husbands parents and mine also)...
You know what I salute single parents like you... willing to sacrifice being away from her children...
God bless you always and your children...

my children are 16, 15, 13 and 12 and they understand it so far. but now that they are on their teens i am a bit scared to just go abroad and work. but that is the only way i know to make their way into college. bringing food on the table is easy but their education is not. im lucky to that i am a singer and working abroad would only be under 6 months contract only. the thing i dont accept is a contract on cruise ships because it is hard to get a daily communication, so i go for land based working place.
well goodluck to you and your family, always stay in touch with your children. the sound of your voice is important to them. God bless

i agree with you.
i am a mother of a 15 yr old boy and i left him to my mom and sis to worked abroad, i didnt have a choice since im a single mom and i didnt have a better job back home.
the only thing i could do is to call him very often, visit him twice a year back home for 1 month each stay and let him (with his grandma) come visit me here once a year in that case im still with him atleast 3x a year (3 months a year)and thats the best i can do, its sad but i really have to do for his future, i love to take him with me but the nature of my job will affect his schooling since i move a lot (nature of my work).
i just hope that im giving him the best inspite being away from him.
