Trouble is once you have caught a cold or flu, your immune system is fighting to get rid of it so naturally once it has gone your immune system is very low so you can easily pick up a secondary infection or your body is not strong enough to fight the symptoms off, especially if they are other peoples! I hope you get better soon, lots of hot toddys to sweat it out, for some reason I don't get colds and flus that easily and yet my parents do get a lot of colds and coughs! Maybe my immune system is working well. Mind you I do go to saunas a lot which sweat out the germs. I'm going next Saturday care to join me? LOL!

Well, if you had a cold and then hubby caught it, I don't think you can re catch it. But if you had a cold and now hubby has the flu, then you can catch his flu. Colds are viruses and once you have it, you can't have it again. But if it is the flu, then you can catch it.Everyone is different. Can you tell the difference between a cold and the flu for you? If so, ask yourself is it a cold or the flu? In any case, I hope you and hubby feel better real soon.

Yes you can and I hope you're not getting sick again....buy some of that Zinc stuff, can't remember the name of it, but it suppose to help stop a cold before it starts. I heard it does work.
You will never get the same cold twice as your body makes antibodies against it, but there are many different types of virus bugs, and although it might seem like the same cold, it's not.........take care hon.

Oh absolutely! when the kids or I get sick we end up just passing it around like a hot potato unfortunately...My husband is the only one who seldom gets sick from us because he stays away LOL
Best bet IMO when someone is getting sick in your house is to keep a distance, take vitamins and make sure you do things like wash your hands frequently etc etc...

Yes, you can get sick again. We've passed colds around like that in our house before. And it's crazy because before my son was born my husband never got sick. Now anytime we get sick then hubby gets it too.

Oh yeah you can get sick again. But the virus is probably different. So many common cold and flu like virus produce the same symptoms. When we live in close proximity to each other as when happens with families we can't help but share the wealth of illnesses. I have grand children who love passing on to Nana all of their nasties. As nurse I know the best defense for me to stay well is washing my hands, and stay out of the line of fire of coughs and sneezes. All of which I do. But when you have a baby running a fever we can not help but touch and kiss that loved one...
Sigh.... now if there was someone to stop the world when Nana gets sick.

I am not sure if you can get it again, I didn't think you could get colds again, it hought your body built up immunities to it, but when i was taking my daughter to the ER one night, the doc there said that we could pass the flu back and forth and to be careful about kissing and hand washing. That's the flu, but its possible its the same for colds. .
I also wanna say i FEEL YOUR PAIN TERRYZ!! I have the cold too, and so does my daughter and hubby. So We all know what your going through.. COME ON SUMMER and get here!! We are ready to give up this cold and colds! hehe. Hope you feel better soon!!

Sadly, I would think that you would be more likely to catch it again. I do not know how long it takes to fully recover from a cold. But, I would imagine that your body would need some time before it is attacked again. I do not think that you have had enough time for that. Next time, don't be shy, send hubby to his mother's. Only a mother can love her big ol' baby when he has a cold. Just joking, LOL.

yes you do. if your body is always stressed there's always a possibility to get sick. make some relaxation if you have time and drink lots of juices, eat fruits and take vitamin C so that your body will have the fighting spirit for sickness.

Yep it is possible to catch a cold or virus again. Your resistance is probably not what it should be which makes it easy to get sick again.
A virus can hang on to a doorknob or anything that is touched by the sick person. The secret is handwashing. Washing the hands won't prevent everyone from getting sick but will help.
Recent study was done on money and the findings proved that a virus can stay on a paper bill for 3 days. Another thing to think about is a grocery cart. How many adults and kids are sick and push or hold the cart? There are so many ways to pick something up especially if you've been sick and passed it to your husband. Wintertime is not easy!
Hope you feel better soon,

Don't you know ppl always share in the family, illnesses included. lol I'll never forget one year b4 our daughter was even conceived when I got sick for 3wks. straight. I finally got better only for hubby to get sick. We kept passing it back and forth for 3 months. ughh!! Now I start popping Advil Cold and Sinus whenever my throat starts hurting or I start feeling yucky.

I would advise you to get a tonic to help build your system. I use Ferrol and my duaghtr loves the taste of it. She has a cold now but I dont. So I will be buying one tomorrow for her. It is really good and seeing that I spend so much energy I need to rebuild my system too and it is really good for that and fights the cold very quickly.
