I have started writing a book on study tips for students. However I have lost motivation as I do not have the confidence in my ability. I keep doubting myself and I am not sure if people would be interested in reading or even buying the book. Also not exactly sure how to go about publishing the book once I have finished it. I do have some great ideas on different techniques on showing students how to study for exams. Just do not know how to motivate myself to finish and publish the book. Anyone have any ideas on publishers that I could use? Also ways you motivated yourself to write a book?

If the book is not too long you might also consider turning it into an ebook.

Yeah thought about that, but how do you do ebooks, do not know much about them?

Wow, thanks, you have inspired me now to publish this book. I will look more into Ebooks and give it a shot. Will let you know of the outcome further down the track. I appreciate your detailed response.

A non-fiction book of that type can be pitched to publishers before they are finished. If you have an outline of what you are writing, you can approach a publisher and they may like the idea. This can motivate you to keep going, especially if they give you a deadline date. I think that is the first thing you should do. It might help motivate you to keep going. If you choose to self-publish you are in for a lot more work after your book is finished. You also have an unlimited amount of time to finish it and that will not motivate you. I suggest you pitch your idea to some publishers and see what they have to say about the idea. Make sure you have a good outline. Pick up the Writer's Market to get proper guidelines for submitting non-fiction. If you can't afford to buy the book, sit at the library, go through the book and write down those publishers you think would be interested in your work and their guidelines. Good luck!

Keep going. It's worth it. You can self-publish the books you are writing. With so many choices, it's easier. Once you obtained ISBN, you can market that. I can help. But first finish it and submit for review!
