What is the difference between malware and spyware and virus?

Malware: This makes a port on your system to open and puts in listening mode so that the malware writer would get access into your system.
Spyware: Send critical information only like passwords, account info etc.
Virus: Mostly eating up resources on the computer and making it to work slow.
