I have been appointed for a job and have to move by next week to a different town. My best friend is living in that town and is inviting me to join at his place. But the problem is that he is staying there along with his wife after marriage since last month. I am feeling pretty awkward about my friend's invitation. I fear that joining them might be like intervening their private life. And at the same time I feel that I would hurt my friend if I refuse his proposal. I just need to solve this out. Can my fellow mylotters help me please..

Have a frank talk with your friend and tell him that you don't want into his privacy especially since he's newly married...maybe the next time you are in town, you can stay over at his place and he will not feel so bad. If he still insists that it is okay and you have to stay with him, make sure you get a gift for the couple and try not to be too much of an intrusion. They probably genuinly want you to join them...there's no harm in it.

If I were you, I would like to accept your friend's invitation. I think your friend must think it over carefully so that he will invite you. So don't worry about it, he already arranged everything well.
