There is a grave amount of movies that are full of special effects, boom this, blast that, without any particular message. Sure, it can be fun to watch them on friday/saturday nights with your girlfriend, or friends, before you head on to hit the clubs.
BUT HAVE TO ESCAPE FROM THE SIMPLICITY AND ENTER INTO A BIT MORE COMPLEX WORLD, of... ¨WHAT IF?!¨
1) EQUILIBRIUM
A movie of love, hate, action, feelings, death, combat, numbness and resistance.
This one's got it all.
At the end of World War III, the world fell under the control of Father and the Tetragrammaton: a goverment that outlaws all forms of art and emotion. Citizens are forced to take drugs, called Prozium to eliminate emotions. However, there are those who wish to feel, love, and even hate. There are those who WANT THEIR EMOTIONS back! They are called the ¨Sense Offenders¨. But they can only do so little because of the elite super-soliders called Clerics. One of them is John Preston. He is the best of the best, intil one morning... he accidentally breaks his vial of Prozium dose, and then... Everything changes...
It is truly a must see, and I'd highly recommend it to everyone who love the ¨WHAT IF?!¨ battles against the tiranny regime =)
2) V FOR VENDETTA
¨Remember, remember the 5th November, the gun powder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gun powder treason should ever be forgot.¨ the popular words from the mouth of the character called V. He is a shadowy freedom fighter who uses terrorist tactics to fight against his totalitarian sociaty. After rescuing a girl from the (sick and brutal) secret police who wanted to rape her when she was out past curfew, he also finds his best chance at having an ally.
Like Equilibrium it is a movie of a tyranny regime, but unlike Equilibrium it's citizens are capable to feel, and the only feeling left for them is F_E_A_R.
Well... Mr. V (for Vendetta) is going to change all that... =)
Watch it, you won't be disappointed!
IF ANYONE KNOWS OTHER MOVIES LIKE THIS, PLEASE... DO LET ME KNOW =)
Sci-fi thrillers are the best in my opinion... like the Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko, and many others.

I saw and loved both of these! I own V for Vendetta, and would love to own Eqilibrium! Two great movies! =)
There is a movie I enjoyed that I had never heard of before. I don't think it was out in theaters or got much (if any!) publicity! lol. But I did think it was good (although I'm not sure others would feel the same.) It's called Thr3e, starring Marc Blucas. It is a mystery/thriller-and I think it has a really good twist ending!
There's a movie that just recently came out in theaters (not sure if it's still showing now) called P2. I went to it with my sister, and we both really loved it! Here is the link to the preview...

I know it seems like the cliche movie; boy stalks girl...he's crazy; yada yada lol. But this is a really good movie. I wasn't a huge fan of the actress in this, but the actor was amazing! He was very creepy (and me and my sis found him sexy-but that's not the point! LOL). I think he didn't a very good job!
CLOVERFIELD! lol. I'm sure you heard of it, just came out in theaters. Defeniatly, DEFENIATLY go see it! It had me and my whole group jumping and covering our eyes! lol. This was a great one!

This was a great comment Lily! =)
Now let's see... Hmmm...
Thr3e... sounds interesting, gonna have to watch it hehhe
Well... P2, maaaaybe some day... =))
Now Cloverfield, I just HAVE TO WATCH this movie. I'm really interested in this one. Not sure if there's really a monster attacking them, but don't tell me =)
When I get the time, I'm gonna write a new review, but this time it's going to be about demented movies such as... Cube, Saw and Hostel. :PPP

Thr3e was defeniatly interesting! lol
I won't tell you about cloverfield, but I will say if you happen to stay until the end of the credits...listen closely and see if you can understand the AUDIO clip of the soldier (i couldn't understand it and it's annoying me! lol) I may see the movie again, just to try and figure out a couple of things! =P
