What did James Bond Accomplished In All These Years

He certainly avoided the world being destroyed too many times, killed some villains and so forth. Every two years a new one would come up and there he goes again. Do you think he is a success? Did he accomplished anything? Wouldn't you expect him to do more, to infiltrate himself in these organizations and get them all? I get that feeling that he could have done much more if he followed-up his investigations.
