What do you do on a day off?

I sell real estate. I have worked and had at least one appointment every day since October. Today, Saturday, I have no appointments and do not know what to do with myself! Real Estate gets into your blood. I brought home my lap top and think I will start my newsletter, maybe take down my Christmas Tree (It's January 26th). What do you do when you have a day off?

Day off? Oh, I remember those. That's when I didn't work at home or work for myself. Now, I work online for myself and for other people and have multiple online addictions, I mean businesses, so to take a day off I have to leave the house. Fortunately, I don't have any wireless computer devices to take along or I would probably be checking email while I was standing in line at the checkout at the grocery store!
So, all that said, my ideal day off is when my dear husband and I take the canoe and the fishing rods or the hiking boots and the camera and spend time outdoors. We have to force ourselves to do things like that, as there's always something that needs to be done around the house, but we're always very glad when we spend time away and in the great outdoors.

I also work for myself, so the need to work 24/7 is an obsession. We too have to force ourselves to leave for any pleasure day trip. If I do, we take a trip to Amish Country or to Granville to just walk down the old fashioned street and get a wrap sandwich and ice cream and a milk shake. Of course, that is typically in the nicer weather. It is about 15 today with snow on the ground. I am seeing where steam goes from the stove burners to perhaps put up my new kitchen tv. Still have not made that pasta. I do have the equipment out though, just waiting on the milk man to bring me eggs :)

I usually do whatever needs to be done around the house, catching up on laundry and cleaning. I've been off work for a week now and I'm going stir crazy. While I appreciate my days off, not working isn't for me. I'm not cut out to stay at home all day!

Evidently I am not either. I too, will be doing things around the house I suppose, making pasta, take down the Christmas tree(yes, I know).....and folding laundry! I have no idea what I would do with an entire week off! I believe I would go stir crazy as well!

I wish I could spend my day offs as productive as yours. I usually rest, sleep or go to the malls during day offs. Bumming off actually. Or I could be cleaning my closet but it has become a bi-annual event. Generally, I look forward to having time for myself during my day offs.

Hi gunslinger,
Today is another day off for me. That means no actual appointments to have to go anywhere and meet clients. However, I have been working cleaning up the back deck today, weeding the garden and watering the back vegetable garden. Just went to the store for dog food and a few other items. Got up at 6am and the day is already getting away from me.....................Thanks for the response and have a good day!

On a day off,I usually stay in bed till 9:00.Then I get up,have breakfast,do some house cleaning work.In the afternoon,I usually go to see some clothes. Then I'll buy one or two of them.In the evening,I usually cook some dishes to make our supper a bit super. After that,my family would get together and play cards or play checkers. At about 10:00,we all go to bed.A new start will begin tomorrow.
