cobol programming

u know guyz we're going back to the past which is studying cobol programming.. i wonder if there's still a company aside from accenture used COBOL as their programming language in developing systems..

I took COBOL (COmmon Business Oriented Language) back in 1992... still remember the meaning of it. The idea was there were going to be companies that will still be using it when I got out of school. That did not happen. But, like PASCAL it is a great language to learn from although both those languages are top/down languages as opposed to today's object-oriented languages such as Java and C++.

I know one company still uses COBOL as the base of its program. The ERP company called SYSPRO still uses COBOL as the base of its SYSPRO ERP software. However, the front end of it are a mixture of Java, VB, .NET, and a few others...
