Is it just me, or have other people run into really rude people on this website who use personal attacks instead of intelligent arugments to make a point? Has anyone else been attacked personally by people they don't even know for a position they have taken on the board? (As opposed to having your position questioned or attacked). I am curious to know. I'm new at this and wonder if there are any community standards of respect.

You don't know what you're talking about there's no rude people here!!!! (j/k)
I think that's one of the negatives of my lot you get people from all ages and all educations and demographics so you do get some "less informational" responses sometimes or some really deep subjects like What's your Favorite Color (mine is red btw).
But for the most part I notice there is about 1 or 2 intelligent responsible mylotters for every kid/troublemaker/casual poster on here.
I think as your friend base grows more people will respond to your topics as I think many people look to friends discussions first before surfing with the general population.

Thanks. So, one of the ideas is also to build the number of friends on the website? That's interesting. I guess I can see where that would at least build community.

Even two people means war sometimes so if there are many many people connected to each other on a site there are surely many kinds.
I have been reading and commenting here for about 1 week and I haven't seen anything rude yet and it is really a pleasure but this certainly doesn't warranty I will never face anyone rude. There are more than 100 thousand people here, we can't expect them all to be nice and polite :)

I agree and understand your point. My definition of rude is aimed at those who would attack the author of a comment, rather than the comment itself. In other words...call you a "loser, cry-baby, or some other name" rather than attack the argument that they disagree with.

I believe your right. I was here reading and writing daily but I think I will quit. Some things a person just can't get over.Especially when they're not responsible for all of it.I wish I could control the world!! LOL
