Do you build your own websites?

I would be interested to know which way everyone goes on this. Do you write your own code, buy or get free sites that are already set up or a combination of these? I have tried a few versions, I'm not good enough with html to write one from scratch. I would be interested to hear other people's experience - good and bad!

there is nothing like the feeling of hardcoding a website in a language such as php. you can do so much with it. just get a copy of dreamweaver and it's syntax highlighting will help a lot with coding. also go to B&N and get some programming books to read. once you start to learn it, your knowledge and understanding of it will grow faster and faster. its very easy to get the hang of

I am too dumb when it comes to html codes and such but I was so desperate to do a tribute webpage myself, I had a top website designer offer to do one for me free but because I wanted to do a webpage from the heart I had to do it myself and I just couldn't understand the programs around at the time so he suggested I trying doing one in "Word' as all computers have that so he showed me a few basics and I did it, I guess it was a bit rough at first but I learnt how to make it look better imagine how thrilled I was when the national library got in touch with me requesting permission to archive it for all time. My webpage is my world now as it is a tribute to my wonderful friend who passed away in 2002, it has been like therapy for me as well.....
