Yeah, I studied there and spent around my time first at fast food chains then eventually went along with friends who ate at more affordable places.
The ones that I usually ate at either at Lisa's, was it at Asturias? Almer's, close to Perpetual? Then if I was really that hungry, I would go a few more steps and eat at Taster's Choice.
How about you guys?

It really depends where we do usually eat. If we are really "nagtitipid" we just eat any affordable carinderias around dapitan or p. noval. We usually eat at lovelite, copy shop, mang toots, lisa's, and almer's. But sometimes if we have some extra allowance we do eat at wok, and some other restaurants around the university :)

Oh my.. its been a long time since I last got to reply to this discussion of mine. It sure does bring back memories of eating at such places with classmates that you later became friends with.
I wonder if by any chance that I would go back to eat at those places, would I see the same people? Probably not.. (^_^")
I can also remember my classmates arguing where we should eat and it would sometimes take a few minutes before someone would relent.

Of course, we also eat at Mang Tootz which is well-known for the legendary bananarama, which has already been featured in Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho.

I just chose your latest comment to post my reply
I guess it really depends on how near an eatery is. I think I haven't really been to P. Noval to actually eat at any of the establishments there. My classmates and I would usually go along Dapitan since it's the closest to the building where we study.
There are actually lots of eateries around the campus that have garnered some recognition, not only from students who became patrons, but also other people who got word from the media.

Graduated 2002, back then we still have Janet's (which became Burger King and recently I think 711 got the place) and Tabby's (this became Kenny Rogers then I can't remember what happened to the place..) Almer's is our all time fave hehe with their refillable gravy :-). Then there was SR Thai Cuisine. Hay miss my UST days.

Would you go back and check the changes out if there was any reason to make you go back?
I think when I entered there, Burger King was the one right infront of the gate at Dapitan, that fast food branch burned down for some reason during a storn and then it was replaced by a book store.
7-eleven I think is at next block(?) after the alley called Antonio.. close to an internet shop..
Couldn't recall any Kenny Rogers.. I entered the university at 2003.. Yeah, Almers... though the place got remodeled and the tables went fewer than it used to when I first ate there with a couple of classmates.. another PC shop took half of its space.. I only went to that SR Thai Cuisine once and that was to take out food for our professor to eat..
I also miss those days of mine.. well, the first two mostly.
Thanks for sharing!

I just recently graduated. And i so missed school. Since the "carpark" was developed in our school, that became place where we usually eat during break time. ^__^ I think Lisa's is located at V.Concepcion. ^__^ I love eating at Anong's Grill and Almer's also, but whenever we will be eating there the smell of "Almer's" usually stick to our uniforms and our classmates would be telling us.. "We know were you ate, Almers right?".. Haha.. That was funny. :).. Happy to meet someone from the same school! :) Go Thomasians! ^__^

Well, congratulations on recently graduating from the University then (^_^ )
I was still around the University when they finished that Carpark with a variety of those fast food chains and even other stores on the floor above them.
Lisa's and Almer's are really familiar to me though I think I might have also tried at Anong's.. what was Anong's Grill's best seller?
That's really impressive of Almer's, patrons or not, whoever eats there would bring along the scent and might influence others who smell it later on to eat there.. quite a marketing strategy, I'd say (^0^ )
Me too, its been a while since anyone posted here in this category..

Well, its been a long time since I got back there, let alone eat again to any of the places that I have mentioned here in this discussion.
I guess your the one who mentioned that place, perhaps you have observed certain times when that place has lots of customers or little patrons eating?

During my high school days, I eat at the high school canteen or at my classroom when I have a "baon". Even during my college days, I still bring baon (para tipid) and also because the food doesn't really satisfy me much. Whenever I don't have baon, me and my friends will eat at Jollibee Asturias and Mcdo at carpark (yikes! foodchain). And since my building is the main building, I also eat from time to time at the varsity canteen (4th floor)or buy at the 3rd floor (science floor).

I usually brought my own but, when friends end up inviting everyone to eat, I just come along and eat as well. There are lots of eateries out there and more or less some still are there even as we post comments and responses here in myLot (^_^ )
Those were good times (^_^ )

Oh yeah, I studied there too at the College of Science building, several years ago. I stayed in an old spanish house just in front of espana st. where food is part of the fee / pay aside from accomodation. So, whenever I am at the school premises and lazy to go to the dorm to eat, I just went with my classmates to the school canteen or food stall there at the campus. Sometimes my classmates and I would eat at a pizza house in espana but now it's not there anymore. My boarding house also is not there anymore. The owner probably sold it, and what I could see now whenever I pass espana st. is a bank.
Its nice of you to post this topic as I feel nostalgic of my college days.

I'm feeling nostalgic as well. ^_^ I miss my classmates or I'm just bummed since I need to find work after the defence and graduating :P
So you're more familiar at EspaƱa.. I'm more at Dapitan due to our building, AB, being more closer there.
There use to be, what they called it, a "Coop" where its like a canteen with different stalls that people could go and eat. I use to go there with my classmates during my first and perhaps the second year as well. I just went there to eat potatoes at a stall named "Wamos" I think..
Years ago, they took the whole thing down and built a fountain instead. The part where a statue of a Filipino soldier, who was said to be the first soldier to break through the main building when the school was still a concentration camp, no longer stands there.
If your going to attend that thing UST has been announcing even at the radios at Feb 16, if I'm not wrong, you'll see the fountain, I guess..
Thanks for responding by the way, I thought no one would reply for more than a month..

I believe we have the same preferences as well, though I usually go to Cely's or BRB every time I get hungry.
