Should Marijuana be legalized?

Being an avid pot smoker myself, would typically lead you to believe i would support legalization. But i don't, i think that the goverment would have troublle controling the drug industry because they'd try to tax and eventully mess with this precious plant to their likings of potency. Leading to less pot smokers, and thus i do not support this idea. Medicinal usage on the other hand should be accepted as a pain reliever. What do you think.
