I need help choosing a cell phone

I recently bought a Motorola Razr and after about 1 month of use it started acting weird with the signal...Like in areas of very good signal it would show no service until I power the phone off and back on. Its sorta didn't work very good from day 1 but when I went to get it fixed through the warranty they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. But it still Doesn't work right. I personally think they were just trying to get out of fixing it or replacing it. But anyways, back to my point....I'm trying to find out what the best cell phones are? Almost everyone has a cellphone so I should be able to get a lot of oppinions but I would like to find out what everyone thinks before I spend my money on another one. Im a verizon user. So what does everyone recommend? whats the best brand? Which ones are good for low signal areas? Which ones are high quality? What features DON'T you like about the phone your using? Please fill me in and help me out everyone! Thanks!
