Have you planned all the things that happened in your life?

Ten years ago, I had envisioned my self of having a stable job. After finishing college, taking up BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, I plan to work in a field related to my course. However, things change, now, that this vision had come to almost a realization because I am graduating this year, my dreams or my outlooked in life have changed. I am planning to put up my own business and decided not to be an employee but an employer myself. What's happening in my life right now is not planned. They just happened. I'm starting my own business together with some friends. How about you, are the things happening in your life right now were planned by you years ago?

no,actually not.my dreams changes too.
when i was at the elementary school ,i make up my mind to be a teacher.that's may because we have access to this group of people regularrly.i think it's scared.
after graduation ,i transfered to be a writer.as being a teacher sometimes is very difficult.and i'm fond of literature.
after taking the major now in the university,i then hope to be a translater or interpreter.
i never expect those changes to happen.and i don't know if my plan will change later.probably ,it will.

probably its also the influence of the environment, the people around us. Sometimes, first, I wish to become an engineer, then a lawyer, a photographer, then an educator, now I wish to be a programmer. I really have big problems on concentration of one field! Probably, I need career guidance. Now, I am venturing into business, hoping to be a good businessman, I hope and pray that I'll stick with this one! :)

It is good to plan your life but there is no guarantee that the things will go according to your plans. We make plans then change them when you go into it. You can plan your career but what if you don't get into your dream college or don't get the major you are looking for. You have to make adjustments. You can plan your life but you can't predict it. We get lot of surprises sometimes good sometimes bad.

You are right! Life is indeed full of surprises. I think these serve as spices in our lives and yet they made our lives more meaningful since we learn from all of these, we get some insights that we can use to continue our journey in life. May we all learn from our experiences and make a better plan for our future!

I think has it is helpful in life to plan the things that will happen like go to university for example. However life is full of surprises ans some of the things that you plan can fall through leading to disappointment. Pregnancy is not planned for some women but they want their baby once they find out they are pregnant. A man might choose to study to become a teacher but there might not be a job in this area of work when he completes his degree.
I always wanted to travel and so far I been to almost 50 different countries so this part of planning in my life works. I wanted to have children and I have 2 sons but i have not got the daughter I wanted so far. I wanted to train to become a teacher and I did do this. I got married and sadly got divorced so this is not what I planned for.

I pursue my objectives, no matters what fate plans for me... Anyway, each time I think of programming my future, something happens that changes everything in an unpredictable (often unpleasant, unfortunately) way...The consideration that there's always a change in the way things develop, in comparison with the way they we're "scheduled" to do, is quite usual in philosophy itself: the Epicureanism stated that an "accident", called "clinamen", might curve the usual route of atoms in their movement (straight moving atoms represent the development of reality,of everything) thus creating new things, new elements, new life...new futures...:-)

your discussion touched a chord with me. I have not only had long-term knowledge of things that were going to happen to me including going to university as a mature student, getting married (when and where and to whom) and working in a prison, I also have had insight into where i would live in my life. From an early age i have felt myself drawn to certain places only later to find myself living there
blessed be

Thanks if this discussion touches you in a little way! Well, indeed life is full of surprises, we don't know what will happen next although we have things planned yet circumstances change all of these. We just hope we learn from all the experiences in our life, and made a better life out of it! Most important, let us not forget to be thankful to the Lord for giving our life and for letting us live! :)

Yes and no. There are things in my life right now that had been planned years ago. But there are many things that were unplanned and the results are all here right now. Maybe life has to be planned to see a clearer perspective but as we go along the path of our each own roads, we sometimes can never avoid to have turns os sometimes a full stop to see a better perspective. Life could be so beautiful whatever it is planned or not as long as we accept thing,s could it be bad or good, that it was made to make us learn more of life's ups and downs.

Definitely I agree with you. Also, whether our plans are being realized or not we must be thankful of what life had brought us for it's only through this that we learn to appreciate life. Thank you.

Sounds like a great plan for you. Creating jobs is one of the best ways to fight poverty.
Most of what happened in my life was not planned, because so many unexpected variables pop up. I keep an open mind. Whenever I am at a crossroads, I evaluate the situation/circumstances at hand to make the best decision possible.

Life is what happens when you make plans! Never in my wildest dreams would I be where I am right now, not 5 yrs ago not 10 yrs ago! 10 yrs ago I was married, 2 beautiful daughters, and a volunteer fire fighter. 5 years ago the marriage was going downhill, but had been for some time. 4 years ago, found me on my own again after a 16 year marriage, and studying for my bachelor's degree in fire science. 3 years ago I made the biggest move I had ever made, and moved from Texas to Pa. I am now working my dream job for the forestry, have a wonderfully amazing man in my life. I know that at one point I swore I'd never live anywhere but Texas. lol The only thing that has come from any planning is working for the forestry as a wildland firefighter, I spent 9 years training and fire fighting with the volunteer dept.

Whether plan or not, at least, what is happening right now is great. You are happy. There are just some things that just happened out from our plans and some just happened along the way. No matter what, we must be thankful with all our blessings in life, whether they are in our plan our not. :)
Thank you so much for your respond. hope to hear from you soon in more discussions!

Wow congratz on setting up your very own business! Sometimes you just let go and just move on with life and this is what happens. Life surprises us. You don't really need to plan every single detail of your future, that's why there's still a big chance for change. I too have stayed off my course in life too because I wasn't able to follow my plans. 10 years ago, hmm.. that would be when I was 7 years old. I never even thought of the future! All i cared were about watching TV and sleeping and eating. I never thought that I'd be a computer geek! Nor knew that I would love to read books. Things have changed, some for better some for worse. But these changes are what that makes me, me. =)
