How seriously should global warming be taken?

I'm looking for opinions on global warming,should it be taken seriously? My perspective is that it should although a lot of people I talk to seem like they are in denial. With the recent weather patterns I'm taking a closer look at the situation. I'm no "tree hugger" but.....

I agree, I think that pollution and enivironmental degradation needs to be taken seriously but I don't think we have enough impact on the planet to affect the weather patterns. There have been bigger and worse hurricanes in the past, hotter summers and colder winters. They say that Co2 is the problem. If there is too much Co2 then the obvious answer is more trees. Humans only contribute a very small fraction of Co2 into the environment, anyway. I actually covered this in my blog.
