Would you blog for free?

Would you want to contribute to a site that would let you blog as much as you want as long as it stuck to the site's theme? There are no fees, but you won't likely earn much either...The site will let you put in referral/affiliate links you set-up, but you can't generate any ad revenue...
The reason I'm asking this is because I'm developing a site and I have the ability to let users create their own blogs & submit other content, but not sure if anyone would actually use or like that feature?

No I wouldn't restrict anyone from using content on my site somewhere else...I think I will just have to finish fine tuning it and once it's ready then invite folks and let people decide if they want to participate or not!

Depends on how credible your site is and what benefits are you providing for the users who create and blog on your site...
If its not money, then it must be something else, otherwise there are other blog sites out there that offer the same as to what you are offering...
The question is what makes yours so special and attractive compared to others?

I have seen a lot of other blog communities...but I haven't seen any revolving around my particular theme...I would only let them post their links, so it could or could not be profitable depending on what affiliates they belong to or if they would want to use my site to drive traffic to their site...the hardest part is starting out I suppose!

Basically, a blog that would allow a lot of guest bloggers.
Believe it or not, A LOT of people like guest blogging-especially if you let them put referral links and/or a byline. In their eyes, a link is as good as $.
If it's a blog topic that I know about, I would guest blog for you.

I like that term "guest blogging" -- I will let you know once I have the site ready and you can decide if you'd like to be our guest!! Thanks for the response, that makes me a little more hopefull!
