Whats your favorite Tom Petty Song?

Tom Petty has been my favorite since I was a very little girl, so I really can't choose one favorite song. There are songs that I hear by him that make me think of favorite times in my life but its still hard to say that its my favorite song because to me they are all great... there is no such thing as a bad Tom Petty song. Do you have a favorite? If so which one and why?

It would be really difficult to pick one as I love a lot of his stuff, but if I had to I'd say "American Girl". It never fails to give me a kind of high and I can't help singing along. I never get tired of it.

Did everyone watch the half-time show in the superBowl yesterday?? I sure did. I think Tim and his heartbreakers did a wonderful job. I loved Free Fallin, so good! What a gentleman Tim is, bravo to him and the hard working crew.

Yes Thats one superbowl halftime I wouldn't have missed! It was great! Wasn't that funny though the look on his face when that crowd was running towards the stage? He sorta looked a little startled. But his show was wonderful! And I loved their Heartbreakers logo stage design!

My favorite is Luna. It was the B side to one of his singles, I think Breakdown. I've love Petty since 1980 and I've been to MANY of his concerts. I haven't listened to him in a while, though..

yeah Luna is a great song! Im not sure about that B side thing because by the time I was old enough to enjoy music Records were gone and it was all CD's...Im sure your probably right though because Breakdown and Luna were both on their first self titled Album released in 1976.

I love this mans voice, he has one of those voices that when you hear it you know immediately who it is, I loved him in the Travelling Wilburys, a voice of character i say...love his nmusic.

Yes I agree with that, his voice is deffinatly one of a kind!! If you haven't seen that new documentary that was released with the recent Re-release of the Traveling Wilburys cd's you should watch it, You'd probably like it! Its really great! Also it has all the music videos that the Traveling Wilburys did.

I agree that everything he has ever done is great but I think my all time favorite would be Free Fallin'....always loved it and always will!

My favorite would definately be Freefallin! It's a total sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-lungs-in-the-car type song.

He is such a great artist. With so many great songs. I think my favorite song changes on a daily basis. It depends on my mood.
And I agree that he has the type of voice that stands apart from others. I love that! I hate these artists that all sound alike.
