My daughter got her first alone time with her daddy

yesterday. He has never gotten her alone before yesterday. He lives about 100 miles away. He has gotten to see her several times, but I have always been there. They had a great day. He had her for about 5 hours. She went and saw her grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, and half brother and half sister. I was a bit worried that she would freak out with him leaving with her, but she did not. He of course can't wait to do it again and I think she feels the same way.

It sounds like it was a positive experience all the way around. She got to see her other relatives and have quality time with Dad. What a beautiful blessing. She has been around him before even if it was with you there so she knew who he was. I would say that is why she didn't freak out when he went to take her with him. Good experience and great for the child to get to know her Dad better.

I could not possibly let someone take my daughter away from me for 5 hours. I would see no point. If they want to see my daughter, they can be civil to me at the same time. I'm glad you are able to be more forgiving, and I certainly hope your daughter has only good experiences.
